After devouring Iron Gold, Red Rising fans have been waiting anxiously for the arrival of the follow-up, Dark Age. The book is coming in a matter of months, if all goes as planned. So let’s break down everything we know (and a few things we don’t) about Dark Age.
Those who’ve been collecting the Subterranean Press editions of the Red Rising trilogy books will be happy to know that the publisher is still on course to release limited editions of the sequel trilogy, which begins with Iron Gold, at some point in the future.
We’ll preface this with a major spoiler warning. I’m about to discuss character deaths from the four published Red Rising books and the Sons of Ares comics! Happy New Year, Howlers! If all goes as planned, Red Rising‘s Dark Age will be upon us in 2019. Author Pierce Brown reminded us of as much in a recent post on Instagram, in which he celebrates the 29th U.S. printing of the original Red Rising book. Congrats to the novel that started it all! I still consider Golden Son to be the best book in the Red Rising series. Strangely, I almost feel bad saying that, as it sounds like I’m saying the series peaked with Book 2. It didn’t and that’s not what I’m saying. For me, Golden Son is to Red Rising what Prisoner of Azkaban is to the Harry Potter series. It’s the book that demonstrated the true depth of the story being told. Highly entertaining, suspenseful, thrilling and occasionally heartbreaking, Golden Son is everything I love about the Red Rising series in one book. Read More
