Here’s Where Howlers Can See Pierce Brown At SDCC 2019

It’s the most wonderful time of the year for people who love all things comics, sci-fi/fantasy/superhero movies, TV shows and books, and anything else that fits in the massive bucket of geeky goodness that pours into the San Diego convention center every July. San Diego Comic-Con is nearly upon us and the schedule of panels has been announced.

Howlers have a few of opportunities to see Pierce Brown up on stage at SDCC 2019. Here’s what’s in store for the Red Rising author:

D&D: All Bards

Thursday, July 18 at 3:00 p.m. – Horton Grand Theatre

Comic-Con special guest Sam Sykes (Seven Blades in Black) will DM a bunch of authors playing an hour-long D&D session where everyone is a Bard and combat isn’t allowed. The bold adventurers include Chuck Wendig (Wanderers), Paul Krueger (Steel Crow Saga), Pierce Brown (Dark Age), E. K. Johnston(Star Wars: Queen’s Shadow), and Jim Zub (Monsters & Creatures; Warriors & Weapons).

Geek Geek Revolution

Friday, July 19 at 4:30 p.m. – Room 8

Geek Geek Revolution is a no-holds-barred geek culture game show featuring five science fiction/fantasy authors competing for the chance to be Top Geek. In addition, the audience members will be asked to submit questions in hopes of stumping the authors and winning a prize pack of book swag. Hold onto your hats, nerf herders, this might get ugly. Featuring Pierce Brown, Paul Krueger, and many more!

What’s New From Del Rey Books?

Saturday, July 20 at 6:30 p.m. – Room 5AB

Adventure, science fiction, fantasy, and fairytales; the publisher of some of genre’s best and brightest stars is here to talk about what’s next on the horizon from Del Rey Books. Hear from authors Pierce Brown (Red Rising series), Adam Christopher (Stranger Things: Darkness on the Edge of Town), Paul Krueger (Steel Crow Saga), Delilah S. Dawson (Kill the Farm Boy, Star Wars: Phasma), Chuck Wendig (Wanderers, Miriam Black series), and Timothy Zahn (Star Wars: Thrawn: Treason) as they discuss their new and upcoming books with moderator Tricia Narwani (Del Rey editorial director).

I dream of the day when Red Rising has its own dedicated panel. The howling from the audience alone would be worth attending, I have no doubt. Of course, three opportunities to see Pierce Brown on stage this year is pretty fantastic, so no complaints.

Pierce Brown’s schedule has him dropping in almost every day of the convention. First for the D&D: All Bards panel on Thursday, then the Geek Geek Revolution game show on Friday. And on Saturday, he’ll be among the authors featured at the Del Rey panel. That will hopefully give him the opportunity to drop some teasy tidbits about Dark Age.

An SDCC badge is required to attend these panels. In case this is your first Comic-Con, know that seating is typically first come, first serve and rooms aren’t cleared out at the end of each panel. So if you want to guarantee yourself a seat at any of these panels, you may want to show up early to make sure you get in.

Pierce Brown Autograph Signings

Pierce Brown has two autograph sessions lined up, both of which take place in the Sails Pavilion:

If you’re unable to attend SDCC this year and you’re in North America, you may have the opportunity to see Pierce Brown when he starts his Dark Age book tour at the end of the month.

Update: Pierce Brown just announced that Dark Age will be available to purchase at SDCC this year. A wristband is a required. Get all the details on how to pick up a copy here.
