Original article:
Voting for the 2018 GoodReads Choice Awards has begun and not one but four Red Rising books made it into the opening round of nominations. Four? Yes, four. Because Red Rising is THAT good…
Iron Gold is among the options for Best Science Fiction and then Red Rising, Golden Son and Morning Star are in the Best of the Best category. That’s a new category featuring previous GoodReads winners from the past ten years.

I went with Golden Son for Best of the Best. Hoping other Howlers will get behind that one as well. Yes, Red Rising is the book that started it all, but Golden Son is the one that took it to the next level and showed what this series was made of. It’s the Empire Strikes Back or Prisoner of Azkaban of the Red Rising series.
This is just the first round of voting. The selections will be narrowed down for the semifinal round, and then narrowed down again for a final round before a winner is crowned in each category. So if you voted already, great! Just remember to come back to see if they made it to the next round so we can vote again.
Here’s the voting schedule:
Opening Round | Oct. 30 – Nov. 4 |
Semifinal Round | Nov. 6 – 11 |
Final Round | Nov. 13 – 26 |
Winners Announced | Dec. 4 |
I’ll post an update with the round results as the weeks go on. In the meantime, do your Howler duty and vote!
